National-
1.Daniel Shanahan –Daniel won a bronze medal in the u14 hammer in
his first year in the event.He was also part of the Kerry u15 boys relay
team that finished second.For good measure he won several other munster
medals in sprints,hurdles and in both u14 and u15 relays.
2.Eoghan Courtney-Eoghan won his national medal at the Scottish Indoor
championships last February when he finished 3rd in the u13 60m hurdles.Eoghan
also won Munster medals in multi events,high jump and also in both the
u14 and u15 relays.
3.Mark Dineen-Mark won gold medal in the u16 pole vault in Antrim with
a clearance of 2.40m.He also won the munster title and was part of the
boys u16 relay which won silver there.
4.David Hogan-David was a newcomer to the club in 2008.His national medal
also came in the pole vault where he finished 2nd to Mark.At the same
championships David also finished 4th in the 250m hurdles.At munster level
he won medals in Triple jump,250m hurdles and also won schools medals
in the high jump.He was also part of the u16 and u17 relays which won
munster medals.
5.Emma Leen-Like Eoghan Emma also won her national medal at the Scottish
Indoors.She finished 3rd in the u17 shot and is still underage this season.Emma
also won silver in the Munster shot with a PB of 10.75m and was part of
the u18 girls relay that won bronze.
6.Iarla Courtney-Iarlas national gold medal came in the u11 team competition
in Tullamore this year where he competed in the 60m sprint.He also won
individual Munster gold and bronze in the long jump and sprint at Indoors
and was part of the long jump pair that won silver in the long jump at
munster outdoors.He was also on the u11 relay that won Munster indoor
gold.
7.Eric Leen-Eric was Iarlas partner in winning the 60m sprint gold at
Nationals in Tullamore this year.He also won silver in the team long jump
at munster outdoors in Templemore.Eric was also part of the u11 relay
team that won munster indoor gold.
8.Jesse Stafford Lacey-Jesse competed in the team ball throw competition
at Nationals where he won silver with his throw being over 36metres.He
also won Munster gold in the same event and was also on the u11 relay
squad that won Munster indoor gold.
9.Christopher Heffernan-Christopher was Jesse ‘s partner in winning
National silver in the u11 ball throw in Tullamore this year.Christopher
was also part of the Kerry u11 cross country team that won Munster bronze
in Clare and on the boys u11 relay team that won munster indoor gold.
10.Eoghan McElligott-Eoghan won 2 national medals in 2008 in the team
competition .The first came in the u10 long jump competition where he
won gold and the second was silver in the u10 300m.He also won Munster
indoor individual gold in the 300m and was also part of the boys u10 relay
team that won silver at the munster outdoors.To round his year off he
won an individual medal in the u10 600m munster cross country in Tipperary
and was also part of the Kerry boys u11 team that won bronze in Clare.
11.Adrian Nolan-Adrian was Eoghans partner in the long jump at nationals
that won gold.He also won Munster bronze in the team 60m sprint and was
also on the u10 relay team that won silver in the u10 relay.
12.Dara Lowth-Another newcomer to the club in 2008 Dara competed a year
out of age this year and still brought home 2 national medals.The first
was in the u10 300m where he partnered Eoghan to silver and the second
was as part of the u9 relay that won bronze.At munster level he also partnered
Adrain to bronze in the 60m and was also on the u10 relay that won silver.To
finish off his year Dara also won an individual medal at the munster cross
country in Clare.
13.Patrick O Riordan-Our seasoned pro Patrick added to his huge national
medal haul again in 2008 with a silver medal in the masters long jump
competition in Tullamore in August.He also finished joint third in the
high jump competition.
14.Paul Lowth-Daras father Paul started to compete with the club in 2008
and won his national medal in the masters indoor shot in Nenagh back in
January.He also won medals at Munster level in sprints and discus.
National Relays
1.Danny O Shea-Kerry u15 relay 2nd
2.Una Marley-Kerry u15 relay 3rd,Una also won Munster silver in the u16
discus
3Thomas Nolan-Kerry u13 relay 3rd,Thomas was also on several u13 and u14
relays that won munster medals.
4.Quinn Newsome McDonnell-Kerry u13 relay 3rd,Quinn also won munster indoor
gold in the 60m hurdles where he also broke the munster record.He also
won several other munster medals in events varying from sprints to long
jump to relays.
5.Jimmy Shanahan-Kerry u13 relay 3rd,Jimmy also won munster silver in
the team long jump and u13 relay at indoors.
6.Niall Marley-St Brendans u9 relay 3rd,Munster u9 relaygold
7.Seamus Leen-St Brendans u9 relay 3rd,Munster u9 relay gold
